-a sonnet-
The planet’s blue as seen from outer space
more water here than any place that’s known,
yet die of thirst the millions as they race
to quench themselves, left arid to the bone.
Kyoto called for us to stop and think
our plastic push revised and turned around,
but rules a mob that sees us further sink
and here we are more poison on the ground.
Endangered now all creatures, great and small,
exceptions none regardless of the ruse,
as cancer grows, so many seen to fall,
the price that’s paid for earth that we’d abuse.
The planet’s blue when seen from off afar,
but acid rain’s the drink, that’s where we are!
