Let’s Re-Cycle at The Rotary Bicycle Roundup!

On Saturday, January 7th The West Chase Rotary will host their 3rd Annual Post-Christmas Bicycle Roundup. The roundup will take place at the corner of Nine Eagles Blvd. and Racetrack Road, next to Flying Fish Bicycle Shop and Sans Pizza.

Last year the Bike roundup yielded 50 bicycles of all sizes and types. The bicycles are repaired and rehabilitated by our project partners at God’s Pedal Power Ministry.  After passing a rigorous safety check the bikes are donated to less fortunate people that use it as their primary form of transportation. The children’s bikes that are collected are donated to a variety of non-profit children’s homes within the Tampa Bay Area.  Recipients of these bikes have been qualified to be indeed “needy” individuals.

The Rotary Bike Round Up hours extends from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  So, if Santa was nice enough to bring a brand new shiny bike and your old clunky bike is stuck in your garage and feeling lonely and unwanted, please don’t banish it to the “island of misfit toys.”  Bring it to the Rotary Bike Roundup so that it can bring happiness to another child or a sense of hope to someone who can really use it to get to work or school.
