Hi, Rod.
I haven't heard anything from any other Sprint users, and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary with the licensing check from my end.
Sprint did block distribution of the app on the Play Store mid last week to Play Store *app* users; however, Klink will still show up as purchased and associated with your Google account if you visit the Play Store web page:
As long as it's recognized as purchased under your Google Account, it should still validate with Google's licensing servers.
Instead, I suspect something else. First of all, have you added a second Google Account to your phone? If so, could you go into the Play Store and make sure that it is using your original account:
- Open the Play Store app
- Bring up the side menu by tapping near the upper left.
- Tap on the Google Account section, and make sure that your original account is selected.
Another possibility is a rare Play Store bug which has cropped up from time to time, which can be taken care of by clearing the Play Store app's data or even more directly by uninstalling play store app updates and restarting your phone. Specifically:
- Go to phone settings
- Choose Applications
- Choose Google Play Store
- Tap on Clear data
- Re-open the Play Store app, and agree to the usage agreement.
For the more aggressive approach:
- Go to phone settings
- Choose Applications
- Choose Google Play Store
- Tap on Uninstall updates.
- Restart your phone.
- Re-open the Play Store app, and agree to the usage agreement.
Does any of that help? Please let me know how it goes!
Kevin
P.S. While I cannot do much regarding the Sprint block for new users, I think that there is a way to allow previous buyers to continue downloading their existing purchases from the store, so I'll experiment with that. Regardless, I will host a direct download of the APK for Klink's Android versions at
http://klink.faveset.com/klink/download, so you can always re-install manually from there. Just let "Package Installer" handle the download, and it'll take care of the rest. Note that a valid purchase from the Play Store is required to use the direct downloads.
