Same Outcome as DonB!

Hello Kevin: I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Klink Blue Edition I'd been using for years. I started with the Blue Demo version-- same outcome as DonB-- it started up IMMEDIATELY on my phone! Clicking on 'purchase full version' took me to the full Blue Edition I had in my Play library. Upon reinstalling... SAME PROBLEM-- WILL NOT START ON PHONE. ** Side note: I've noticed that my Trend Micro antivirus will never complete its app "safety" scan as it should whenever it runs on my full version of the Blue Edition. It WILL successfully scan the Blue Demo...??

Ahh.  Okay.  Thanks for the additional confirmation of the demo working.  Let me see if I can get a workaround in place for all of you that excludes the connection test, though I'm not yet sure what's going on since it doesn't seem to be carrier specific.  (Some Verizon and Sprint connections are still working fine!)

Also, I don't think the security scan has any bearing on this issue.  The demo version is actually much of the same code with a lot of functionality missing (e.g., the connection test).

Much appreciated! Say... what's the difference between the different versions of Klink? I have the Blue... is the Red Or "Plain" Edition glitchy right now? I'm really needing to get internet to my laptop ASAP... 😞

Unfortunately, the Red Edition has the EXACT same problem of not starting on phone...??

Hi, again.

There is no difference between the various "editions".  They are there for historical reasons primarily so that people can recover their old purchases.  A long time ago, a few carriers censored Klink and similar apps.  Some time thereafter, they stopped censoring such apps, but the only way around things for awhile was to release a renamed version of the app.  Blue and Red names were just allusions to the respective major carriers and their colors.

Oh!  Also, if you inadvertently purchased a duplicate version of the app, don't hesitate to ask for a refund.  Google can usually handle a short term refund, or I can find your order with the order number from the receipt and request a refund.

I figured I'd try the paid Red version, as I had to do something to get myself up and running-- thought I'd give it a shot with linking to the companion computer side I'd already reinstalled for the Blue. Since I didn't need to in through those extra steps, I was still under the 15 minutes and was able to refund right away via Play. THANK YOU for your integrity shown in checking up on this, though, and thanks for also clarifying the need to have the multiple versions of Klink-- that makes perfect sense, considering it's valuable purpose! Awesome!
