Klink's PC software does not contain any trojans. It's a paid app, so there's no reason for spyware or the like. Moreover, I actually build Klink's PC program on a dedicated computer running Linux using a cross-compiler, which leaves little chance for infection. The installer file is also signed, so you can be sure that the installer and its contents are not tampered with.
Do you recall the exact trojan that McAfee was complaining about? A few months ago, I learned that Norton was falsely labeling Klink as a trojan due to it only appearing on a small fraction installed systems, which is understandable considering its niche. (See
http://www.ghacks.net/2012/06/25/how-to-bypass-symantecs-ws-reputation-1-system/ for related discussion.) I ultimately submitted Klink's installer for further investigation, and they made an exception. It's possible that I will have to do the same with Mcafee.
