Hello Everyone,

I'm happy to announce that between the READMEs and the GitHub wiki (https://github.com/JoFrhwld/FAVE/wiki), the changes we've made on the dev branch are documented well enough for us to roll out another FAVE release.

So, the most current release of FAVE is FAVE 1.1.1. Thanks to Scott Seyfarth, Kyle Gorman, and Hilary Prichard for their contributions. You can download compressed files here: https://github.com/JoFrhwld/FAVE/releases/tag/v1.1.1 Although, I would highly recommend forking it on GitHub so that we can pull in any changes or alterations you make to it that might be useful.

Release Notes:

Most of the changes in this release come mostly to FAVE-extract. Specifically,
  • Increased windows compatibility for FAVE-extract
  • rpy2 dependency was replaced by numpy
The bad news is that if you haven't installed numpy, you'll have to now. The good news is that installing numpy is less error prone than rpy2.

Other updates are:
  • FAVE-extract now asks for optional years of education
  • The processing of TextGrids with overlapping TextGrids was improved
  • The verbose output from FAVE-extract was replaced with a progress bar.
  • A bug in praat.py's treatment of point tiers was fixed.
