A third of the way through aligning a file, I get this error (some text changed to protect privacy):

Sound chunk Speaker00MonthYear_SC_chunk_636.wav successfully extracted.

I see that it's terminating the script at the end, and my interpretation is that it never makes the TextGrid for chunk 636, so when it tries to resume, it fails. Is that what's happening? What can I do to help it continue on to the next chunk? This project is such that I could skip over the section if I had to (if there's something wrong with the transcription or sound file, for instance).

Hi Lauren,

I'm trying to chase this down. Has this problem persisted for these files, and only these files?

Hi Joe,

I was able to get it to stop, possibly by removing some non-ASCII characters, but I wasn’t tweaking things systematically, so it could have been something else I did.

Thanks,
Lauren

(Just for posterity’s sake, the problem seems to stem from non-ASCII characters like rounded quotes and apostrophes.)

Lauren, Joe,

I'm having this same problem right now with multiple different files.  Did it turn out to be a problem with the formatting of the text in the input file?  Should I be troubleshooting based on the text of which chunk it's failing on?  It's happening in multiple files, but not all the ones I try.

Thanks, Allison
