The food.get.v5 schema shows no ingredient field, and ingredients appear to be recipes-only. Can anyone confirm whether branded/packaged foods carry an ingredient statement at any tier, or whether it's on the roadmap?

We match keywords against ingredient text to flag allergens, religious restrictions and dietary dislikes — the ten allergen attributes alone don't cover the last two.

Separately: the branded example in the docs (Whole Grain Cheerios) returns all ten allergens as -1 Unknown, while the generic example (chicken breast) returns real values. Is that representative of current US branded coverage?

Thanks for reaching out.

We currently don't publish ingredients for (branded or any other) foods.

Only recipes come with their individual ingredients.

Reg. Allergens:
All generics and composite generic foods globally are fully associated with all supported allergens and dietary preferences. We are now rolling these out for branded foods over time, too, but this is an ongoing process hence the coverage will improve steadily.
