Hi friends 👋

I couldn't find any clear direction in the documentation - or I wasn't looking in the right place - how does one do a more accurate search for foods?

For example on the REST API when searching for "mature cheddar cheese", and specifying the region `ZA` and language `en-UK`, the first result I get is a soup, and we start getting closer to actual cheese products on page 2.

But on the demo the first result is spot-on and even the first 10 results are logical and closer to the term.

Is it considered the norm to just query for ~50 results, and then manually (or via AI) filter down to the most likely? Or is there a setting/permission I'm missing?

Thanks all

Thanks for reaching out.
You would need to have localization access to ZA in order to replicate the API Demo results i.e. all search results are unique to a search query for the given country - across a given time frame. Search results are re-ordered periodically per country based on user behaviour.
The API provides access to 56 unique country datasets whereby each country dataset is stand alone and as such search results will differ significantly. By way of background, in particular composite generic foods, branded foods as well as restaurant foods globally are always unique to a given country given the serving amounts, nutritional values, barcodes as well as restaurant menu items are published on a per country basis by the respective brand owners.

That makes sense, and also made a huge difference to the results. Thanks for the clarification ☺️
