All but specifically those that are not club members and any aficionado on handicap systems. This would seem to fix a problem we have with those fat boys that don’t pay £1500+ a year to become a proper member ie Phil Heath. The real question though is is it a scam or kosha? Anybody got a clue or willing to comment?

 Official handicaps for independent golfers

Obtain an official WHS handicap without being a club member

Finally, independent golfers have the option to obtain an official handicap through the World Handicap System (WHS). So, it's no longer exclusive to club members.

At just £27, we are offering the most affordable WHS handicap in the UK and Europe.

You can simply obtain your WHS handicap by upgrading to a premium membership plus an additional £12.01. Both options are on the handicap page within our app (shown below).

World Handicap System

Benefits of WHS via My Online Golf Club

You have access to competitions, based on your WHS handicap. Your WHS is a worldwide recognised handicap as it’s issued by R&A and USGA.

The advantage of WHS and the accompanying official federation handicap card is that it is accepted worldwide. So you have access to almost every golf course. Even to more exclusive golf courses, as they only accept an official federation card with an official WHS handicap (and for example additional requirements such as a handicap below 28).

You can compare your own handicap with other golfers who also have an official WHS handicap worldwide. And the advantage for independent golfers in the UK is that they can officially compare their handicap and compete with club members.

Additional information

Your current WHS handicap is published on your federation card within our app. If you add an Extra Day Score (EDS) or competition result then you will see your new WHS handicap. It will change on your federation handicap card during the following night.

You can use your existing My Online Golf Club handicap rounds and validate them through the Golf Association of Moldova which is officially issuing and managing WHS. This national association is licensed by WHS (R&A and USGA) and European Golf Association (EGA).

For golfers without an existing handicap, handicap history or those that want to start golf and obtain an Initial Handicap Index with handicap 54 (or lower) you can easily enter your first acceptable score over a minimum of 9 holes using our app.

The World Handicap System is designed to increase the number of golfers, make golf easier to understand and to provide all golfers with a handicap that is accepted worldwide. It replaces the former six different systems. It has been developed by The R&A and The United States Golf Association (USGA). It is supported by the world’s handicapping authorities, including CONGU, which represents the four home countries of Great Britain and Ireland. The idea of one worldwide system is that we will not only all use the same rules but also the same handicap system. As players become more and more mobile, this makes more and more sense.

The purpose of a handicap is to determine the playing strength of a golfer. To ensure that this playing strength is measured in the same way all over the world, WHS was launched. Because golfers also play abroad, the WHS is a system by which the handicap of all golfers in the world is accepted everywhere.

We really hope you enjoy this new addition. If you have any fantastic ideas of how we can further improve our app please let us know.

Good luck out on the course!

Steve sent me a link to uk golf federation who are offering same service for £40 a year. Will be taking a look at that and this one to see if they are genuine. In the meantime my society handicap  is 15.3 based on best 6 in last 10 cards

I did contact MyEG about the £40 one for someone else and they said they were coming out with their own later this year but weren’t affiliated with any other system. This one looked interesting as it seems they have effectively created a golf club without a golf course so logically I could see it working as as long as they can create an entry into the CDH MyEG and any other app would be none the wiser

Cheers
