I was very surprised to realize that Oppo is not connected to Lead in any way
So if Lead is created with CustomFields there is no way to access (or transfer ) those fields to the Oppo

How can this be resolved?
I am creating a plugin , mostly it works good but how to implement association ?

pls help

Hi Ilya,

That's right, leads are not connected directly to opportunities. A lead is often seen as an initial contact - a CRM might have many leads but relatively few would be 'converted' to real contacts. Opportunities can then be created. One idea for you - if you are developing your plugin and want to link leads to opportunities, you could introduce a convention where an opportunity has the same custom fields as a lead and copy them across during the 'convert' action.

Just a thought,

Regards,
Steve

Dear Ilya,

In CRMs, “Leads” are converted into “Contacts” after the relationship with the entity is established. “Opportunities" are then associated with “Contacts” or “Accounts” they are associated with. That is the usual flow in a CRM process.

However, there is really nothing wrong with “Leads” being associated with “Opportunities” like Steve said. It is just not usual.

Ademola
