Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming online course: INTRODUCTION TO POPULATION GENOMICS
Dates: online, 16–20 March 2026
This five-day training provides a comprehensive introduction to the concepts and analytical approaches used in population genomics. The program combines lectures (~2 hours/day) with hands-on practical sessions (~3 hours/day), allowing participants to directly apply methods to real datasets.
Topics covered include:
• Management of short-read sequencing data: QC, trimming, mapping, SNP calling
• Population structure and introgression
• Demographic inference and model comparison
• Genome scans for association and selection (GWAS, GEA, selective sweeps)
• Landscape genomics and spatial analyses
The course is designed for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and scientists with a basic background in genetics/genomics and some familiarity with UNIX command line tools and R. Recommended preparatory tutorials are provided for those who need to refresh these skills.
Participants will have opportunities to interact with instructors, discuss analytical challenges, and deepen their understanding of population genomics methods and applications.
