We're a small business only ISP that offers connection speeds from 10Mbps (for out of band management mainly) up to multi-gig. Our network is comprised of 21500 IP's split across six ranges (/19 x 1, /20 x 2 and /21 x3). IP's blocks are assigned as requested by customers, so as small as a few /30's and a few customers with /23's and everything in between.
How do I make sure I set thresholds that either don't miss attacks on large bandwidth customers or falsely tag traffic for small customers? I've added the IP ranges to FastNetMon as their supernets, but do I need to do add each range individually?
I've been running FNM for about a week now and I'm loving the traffic visibility, and the next step is enabling blackholing and flow spec.
