Anyonehaving any luck with the USB then? I wish this would work because the connection is in a better location than the AUX input. I've been using Bluetooth, but every time you restart the boat you have to wait for the phone and headunit to reconnect and then press play again.
Start by confirming that your android device will stream through its data port. Next, make sure your android device is compatible with the Clarion. My android will not stream, so it doesnt matter what I connect it to.
Could never get my USB to work on my MB, always the error. Went out with another MB later this year and his phone wouldn't work. Asks me to try mine and I explained it's never worked for this setup. I plugged it in and BOOM worked just fine, WTF. Same exact setup in my MB.
An entry box lets you process data input from the user. The data entry control is a specialized form of Windows edit box. It can help you automatically validate data as the user enters it in a dialog box.
You may check the user entry against the picture at two points: as the user types the data in, or when the user closes the dialog box. Checking the data as the user types it incurs a slight performance penalty. To do so, check the Entry Patterns box in the Window Properties dialog for the window in which the entry box resides. This turns the MASK attribute on for all controls in the window.
If the user types in data in a format different from the picture, the program will attempt to determine the format, then convert it to match the picture (if no MASK was specified). For example, if the user types 'January 1, 1995' and the picture is @D1, the program formats the input to 1/1/95. If the program cannot determine the entry format, it will not update the USE variable. The user will receive an audible prompt (beep), and the focus will return to the entry control, ready for additional input.
A Help keyword is a word or phrase indexed so that the user may search for it in the Help Search dialog. When you fill in the HLP attribute for a button, if the entry box has focus, when the user presses F1, the help file opens to the referenced topic. If more than one topic matches a keyword, the search dialog appears.
The Actions tab prompts are all from the templates, in other words, the prompts you see here vary with the template used to create the control. Following are the standard action prompts for all entry controls.
The standard Actions prompts are designed to provide data validation support for your entry controls. The tab is divided into two parallel sections. The When the Control is Selected section provides validation when the control receives focus (when the user TABS onto, or mouse CLICKS the control). The When the Control is Accepted section provides data validation when the control loses focus after data have been entered in it. The control loses focus when the user TABS off the control, mouse CLICKS to a different control or window, or closes the window without canceling. The two sections are not mutually exclusive, so you can provide validation at both points.
This is the procedure that is called when the user enters an invalid value, and the lookup specified above fails. The usual purpose of this procedure is to allow the user to choose a valid value from the lookup file.
Allows you to specify parameter names (an optional list of variables separated by commas) for your update procedure, which you can pass to it from the calling browse procedure. You must specify the functionality for the parameters in embedded source code.
Calls the Embedded Source dialog. The only embed point shown is after the code generated to call the lookup procedure specified above. For more embed points, and further customization, press the Embeds button.
Can someone advise of the required button presses to input the code on the attached radio (battery was removed for welding, and since the display doesn't work the owner can't tell if hes inputting it correctly or not). We think this is the Clarion unit rather than the Alpine one, but would be helpful to confirm that too?
I have suggested that he considers sending it to Clarion for repair and code removal, though I know Richard did say they were running out of replacement screens with the last one he sent away so it may not even be an option now. Also how can you tell which audio system is fitted (or to ask the question in a different way, is fitting a different stereo likely to be less than straightforward on a 1997 DSE due to amplifers etc, vehicle doesn't have any sub or similar kit but not sure if it has the door amps or how to tell?)
I think you are right in how the code is entered and once you put the last number in, it should just burst into life. SE spec with no sub and, presumably no steering wheel controls, will be the low (no mid range speaker in the front doors) or mid line system (with mid range speakers in the doors) so no amps in the doors. If that is the case, then the plugs on the loom to go into the radio are standard 2 x 8 way ISO connectors and you can just plug any aftermarket head unit in. The '97 4.0SE I had was also fitted with the mid line system and a Sony head unit was a direct replacement.
Mine originally had the low line system (as plod didn't ask for a radio at all but it still came with speakers) but I swapped the door panels for ones with mid range speakers to turn it into a mid line.
Cheers, will give that a try and see. No idea if hes got steering wheel controls, will have a look at the weekend when I see it again. Sounds like swapping it is about as simple as it could get in that setup too.
Great stuff, will give it a go on Saturday. Other question is around removing the stereo to swap it - Rave seems to show a pair of flat hooked removal tools, inserted somewhere near the top of the radio. Couldn't see anywhere on there to actually do that, is that the correct thing to use on these or is there part to remove first?
As a child, comics amused me as they do many kids. Not sure why, but Hagar the Horrible resonated most. I also spent hours doodling smart-aleck versions of Garfield when I should have been doing something else.
As I got older and found my way into this business, I learned that the comic pages were personal. A strip that didn't sing to me, spoke to others. Such is the unique connection that comics bring to readers.
Our comics' page remodel was influenced by seeking fresh input from our audience. We took the time to survey readers across the nation and acted upon what we learned. We continuously evaluate our content and how to best serve our audiences. Comics have historically evolved to reflect the culture and tastes of the times.

In an upcoming edition, we're explaining the evolution of the observations, themes and outstanding art in this newspaper's comic strips. The comics over the years have grown, changed and impacted our society, from war to love to pets and changing political norms.

There are lots of different head units out there with bluetooth, and in single DIN configuration. Just find the best deal with the features you like, and get the matching remote. You can go to a setup that is JUST a remote/small head unit thing, but if you are already setup for a DIN head unit i would just replace.
No brand preference so open to any brand. Having a remote of some type would be good as the driver arm rest location makes volume control a PITA, however I guess we'll be able to change volume via phone so no biggie if new setup doesn't have one.
I'm not a stereo tech person. What's the advantage of an amp over just using head unit alone? We don't listen loud and the speakers are basic so won't the seperate amp just be draining battery faster due to extra losses?
