Riding surface - tire size calc & impedance

Does the riding surface - tire size calculator take into consideration impedance? I.e. is optimal pressure equal to breakpoint for the surface?

Hi Terrence

Yes it does, this is what the calculator is all about! We worked out the rolling resistance for every pressure and all common surfaces and the break point ie the impedance thresholds. Then we corrected this for time on each part of the course.

Yes, I did watch the video... more than once actually... lol. Maybe it’s a terminology thing, as I can only remember hearing mention of “rolling resistance” and no mention of “impeadance”. So when you say “rolling resistance”, for you, is that the sum of losses from tire hysteresis (what I’d call rolling resistance) plus impeadance?
