Hi,

I've worked through optimizing many of my formulas in my spreadsheet using the drill down tool, but when I insert or delete rows, there is around a 20 second delay for Excel to perform the procedure. Is there a way to figure out what in the workbook is causing that delay so I can optimize it?

Assumimg you are in Manual Calc Mode I can think of 2 possibilities:
1  Excel is taking a long tong time to update the dependency trees
2 Excel is taking a long time to update the formulas in your workbook so that they point to the new location after insert/delete.

For 1 Try switching ForceFullcalculation on (FXL workbook calculation settings) . This forces every calc to be a full calc rather than a recalc but eliminates maintaing and building the dependecy trees.

For 2 I don't know of a simple solution

Charles
