During the development of a spreadsheet I often end up with more than one range name referring to a given cell. A nice feature to add would be to filter the cells which have more than 1 name associated with the cells.

Hi Mark,

If I understand you correctly you can already do this:

Filter using either:
  • Overlap Other Names - gives you all the names that overlap references with other names anywhere
  • Refer to Selected Cells - gives you all the names that refer to the currently selected cells.
Then double-click the name to go to the cells

The information that I need is buried in the "Overlap other names results", many which are desired overlaps.
In the attached screenshot the names "gflt" and "junk" both refer to the same cell, which an error that I am trying to find and "gflt" overlaps with "DefaultsFromM" which is desired. The results do not report that "junk" overlaps with "gflt".

So is what you are looking for a filter that gives you only exact overlaps - names that refer to identical ranges?

Added a filter in Name Manager build 501.800 that looks for identical Name Refersto formulas within the same workbook (so does not show a  refersto in book 1 that is the same as refersto in book2)
