I raced the Owasco Flyer.  Huge field of 150+ so it is a little sketchy for the first half.  Found that some people were rude and dangerous during the race.  Much different than any sanctioned race I've been in.  No more citizens races after that one for me.

Did it last year. It's a great event. Great course and the food and awards are outstanding. Its been going on for many years. The west side of course is the flat side. The east side has the UPs and views are tremendous as is the vertical. Had police protection for start. If your doing it for a fast ride be ready to roll when the roll out starts. Gets fast quick and there will be top level racers at the front. If your just doing it for the ride line up toward the back. Roads were good as we're markings and Marshall's. Can't blame the organizer for people who do not know how to ride in large groups and want to use they're breaks too much. If you wanna go hard start in the front third of the group. Have fun. See you there. Would also suggest either driving or riding it before hand.

More info part 2. Go to their webb page and then click on results either,
over-all or age group (which by the way are many) and see how you would
stack up. Then check out the photo's and you'll get a good idea of the
course and level of riders that attend. For those interested they also do
weekend group rides starting at 9 am from Emerson Park. These rides break
into a couple dif. speeds. Enjoy.

Thanks Roger and Bill for your comments and advice. Looks like fun! Will try
to ride the route before June 23.
