Join me tomorrow for this classic ride authored by Mark Frank. It starts flat to rolling. After stopping in picturesque village of East Aurora we climb to wide vistas and eventually pass through one of the first wind farms in NY. Then it’s downhill to Attica where we can stop again and then a flat finish to Batavia.

Here is the link to BRT where you can download GPS data.

See you at the start in Batavia at 9!

PS there is a flatter shorter option and lots of ways to shorten the ride.

Well said Otto. I'd just add that it is the only RBC ride to go out that way and with so many new riders on ff they may want to see a new area. And yes there ia a cued shorter option that still gets to East Aurora.

Otto, et al,

I assume ya bums made it back okay, since all your cars were gone when I got back.

Thanks to Otto’s pre-ride talk, I stocked up on food before I left Batavia. Ya can’t ride safe, if ya can’t think straight, and ya can’t think straight if you’ve bonked.

What a sweet ride: No walls, light traffic, no loose dogs, courteous and skilled motorists, bucolic scenery, mild temps, stunning views of Tonawanda Creek and sunshine mostly all day.

Since I did not recognize a single tree or farmhouse, I’m assuming that this is my first time on this route. (But I have been wrong before.)

Will do it again next time it’s scheduled.

Otto: Thanks for leading,

Bob

Glad you enjoyed it. Its a sweet route. Now you know where all the milk comes from. You made an impression on a couple of guys in Batavia. Shortly after we got back they walked past and asked if we rode 95 miles like you were gonna do.

We did encounter a few unskilled drivers shortly after East Aurora but we anticipated their idiocy and avoided any problem.

Thanks for sending your email!
