Dear respected colleagues,
In line with the transformation effort by the University and with the introduction of Science and Information Technology Faculty, the Engineering Design Exhibition (EDX) has been upgraded to Science and Engineering Design Exhibition, with the acronym SEDEX. As it is a continuation of EDX, the exhibition will continue as the 28th installment of the event, known as SEDEX28.
SEDEX is an event organized by the University for all students and staff to exhibit their innovations and ideas through research presentations and prototypes. Our undergraduate students, who are currently doing their ETPs and FYPs, will be participating in this exhibition. Our postgraduate students will also be part of the exhibitors. In fact the whole university community has the chance to participate in SEDEX, through the Open Innovation Category.
SEDEX28 will be held from the 10th till 11th of August 2011. In order to ensure full participation by students and staff, Wednesday, 10th August 2011 is declared as Academic Free Day.
Lecturers are requested not to conduct any academic assessments (test, quizzes, etc) during that time. Lecturers are also encouraged to postpone Wednesday morning classes, if any, so that all of us can show our full support by attending the opening ceremony, and at the same time provide some motivation to students who will be participating as exhibitors.
Some of you might also be involved as judges, and our Hon. DVCA, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil M Hani would like to thank you all in advance, for your valuable contributions.
