Good morning all,
Going along with Robert's recent post about posting to this group, I thought I would share a packet of 40 songs from my new tunebook, Peregrine Harmony, that I completed this year. It's a collection of 200 tunes I've written over the past 25 years with most composed over the past decade. It represents my various wanderings and journeys through life and my interactions with shape-note music and the singing community in the various places in which I've lived.
Peregrine Harmony is organized into four sections following mostly the format of earlier tunebooks: 1) a selection of easier tunes for learners or congregations, 2) a selection of lengthier and more intricate pieces for classes, 3) a selection of canons ranging from 3 to 8 parts, and 4) a selection of odes and anthems. There's a wide range of styles and tune types as I love to explore the various kinds of tunes written over the past 250 years.
If people are interested, I have hardcopies available for $15 +postage. Alternatively, I'm setting up a purchase page for a digital download of a PDF version as well. I can let folks know when that will be available.
Any thoughts or comments are most appreciated. We've been singing from this book once a month here in Maine and people have been enthusiastic about the tunes. Thanks so much!
Take care.
