I've been working on the attached song for about a month but didn't get it ready for sending out in time for Christmas. I'd love to know what you think.

At first sight, the tenor line looks interesting and similar (not derivative, though) to "Social Harp" tunes. The Scottish slap at the end of each phrase sounds very Celtic (and McCury-like) In other words, I like it.

Thanks, Charles. I'm glad you like it. Early on in the process I realized that it was starting to sound a wee bit too much like ZION'S WALLS and made some changes accordingly, which also, by the way, resulted in a little better fit of of music and words, at least in my opinion. So your observation that it has a McCurry-like sound is not surprising. Since each verse has four lines of 12s, the "snaps" at the end of each phrase were pretty much irresistible. In the original text, the chorus is 7,7,6,7 (or perhaps one could say 14,13) which I found a bit difficult to handle. So  I "stretched" out the music for the first two lines of the chorus a little in order to handle the additional syllables, to stress "yah" and "Lamb," and also to end like the third phrase of the verse. And I contracted "We will" into "we'll" at the beginning of the third line of the chorus in order to make the last part of the chorus fit the music that ends the repeated phrases at the beginning and the final phrase of the verse. I don't know if any of this makes sense, but my thought processes are often convoluted. :-)
