New deadline for Sacred Harp book orders + Santa Fe invite

Dear Singers,

My last email said I'd be taking orders from LA singers for the 2025 revision of The Sacred Harp up through the Young Peoples' Convention. But I've gotten word that that'll delay the mailing, so I'm moving up the deadline.

New Book order deadline for Los Angeles singers:

This Friday, August 15th

You can certainly order individual copies, but the publishing company prefers to mail in bulk, and I suspect individual copies will come after they've mailed large orders.

ALSO, here's an invitation from our fellow singers in New Mexico:

Hello, my dear LA Harpers!

The New Mexico Sacred Harp Convention is 3 weekends later, October 4 & 5, in Santa Fe, and we will have a LOT of new books for everyone!

Since this will be the first Convention in the Western half of the country after the release, we’ve been working with the Iveys and SHPC on logistics to make sure we have enough for every person at the NM convention to buy a new book. 

And of course, we would really love to have you come to New Mexico for the convention. It will be a beautiful time here in the mountains and we miss your California-Gold faces and voices. 

But be sure to add a couple extra days to your trip: our regular Thursday night singing in Santa Fe, Friday evening a singing school with David Wright from the revision committee where he’ll speak about the revision process and teach from the new book, Monday a hike and sing among the aspen trees in the Sangre de Cristos mountains (tbd), and of course the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque which runs from 10/4-12.
