Third Sunday Westside Singing: December 15, 3-6 -- Special Christmas Edition

Dear Sacred Harp Singers,
We are holding the Westside Sacred Harp singing this Sunday, December 15 from 3-6. Please contact Bruce (310 666-0413) if you need the address.
This is our annual Sacred Harp Christmas party, and we invite everyone to join us, no matter which monthly singing(s) you usually attend.
The singing is in our garage (well lit and airy but bring a sweater).
Following our custom, the singing includes
--A slightly long time period (3-6)
--The chance to sing from Karen Willard’s wonderful book An American Christmas Harp, as well as the usual red book. We have loaner copies.
--A longer break with "Enhanced Snacks.” People often bring holiday-themed snacks, though of course this is optional.

We are still on the cusp about having a singing this Sunday 1/19 (3:00-5:30). We’re a little low on singers due to the conflict with the Statewide Convention. Do let me know if you would like to attend.

We will host the monthly Westside Sacred Harp Singing this coming Sunday, November 16, from 3 to 5:30, at our home near Century City. All are welcome. Please contact Bruce (bha...@humnet.ucla.edu, 310 666-0413) if you need directions. As it's November, we will have the option of singing from the Christmas Harp (loaners available), and we have loaner copies of the new 2025 Sacred Harp.

Our next singing, December 21, will be the last third Sunday singing that we will host. After 25 years, it's been a tough call to make, but recently the number of singers has dwindled to the point where we're no longer a viable singing. We know that for some singers, their Sunday priority is family obligations, and therefore we hope that Peter Stenshoel's second Saturday singing in Mar Vista can grow to have a better turnout than our Sunday singing has had.
In the meantime, in addition to the November singing this weekend, on December 21 we will have our annual Christmas singing, which will also be a celebration of 25 years of hosting. Even if you don't usually come to a westside singing, we hope you can come sing this last time in our humble garage, for a final send-off!
