Greetings, Fasola -- 

I have that. 

Just searched physically in response to this post, and now hold papers physically in my hand. 

I've been a fan of Cagle and this thread idea for a hot minute. 

In "The Keystone Harmony", festschrift so to speak, for the first Keystone Convention (1999), Doron Henkin and I published one of these Cagle tunes, "Redeeming Love" 

[[and, I think, I'm so so sorry still !!!, in our huge deadline production rush, perhaps the copyright notice acknowledgment for this tune which should have been given to the Sacred Harp Publishing Company maybe perhaps was omitted by mistake...]]. 

Maybe I could make a modern digitized version of the papers I hold, and share...   ...I'd be happy to... 

But, I think that what I have came actually from Tom Malone himself and a file that I requested and printed out and don't have digitally anymore. 

Tom made and packaged and presented what I'd been thinking about... 

...I give him credit and leave him space to respond and share here. 

But, just in case we don't hear back, 

I have these Cagle tunes. Check in again in a bit, and I can make something and share, if need be. 

Again, I am a huge Alfred Marcus Cagle fan, and I I approve of this query and answer and project, and hope to be helpful; yet, I don't wish to step on toes or steal credits or files or anything.

Hello All,

I believe that all of the manuscripts that served as sources for the session on unpublished tunes by A. M. Cagle that Tom Malone shared at Camp Fasola are located in Raymond C. Hamrick papers at Emory University's Pitts Theology Library. Cagle, Hamrick, and Hugh McGraw shared songs with each other for feedback, and these manuscripts are included alongside Cagle's letters in several folders of correspondence between Cagle and Hamrick. Here is a reference for these folders in the broader manuscript collection:

Tom Malone asked singers to return the packets used during his camp class to him because he did not have the right to publish or distribute the music. These songs are not under the copyright of the Sacred Harp Publishing Company. I have also not seen evidence that any were submitted for publication in The Sacred Harp. Folks seeking to publish or distribute these works would need to obtain permission from A. M. Cagle's heirs. I suspect that folks interested in seeing specific songs for their personal or research use could contact the staff at Pitts Special Collections to request copies. We have also exhibited a few of these items from time to time at singings and related events at Emory. And, of course, singers are always welcome at Pitts to spend time with the items in person in the special collections reading room.
