At yesterday's Willard Family Birthday Singing in Buckley, WA, we sang towards the end of the day this song by David Wright...
I couldn't quite think where I'd seen A SONG OF TEXAS, and the tune wasn't 422 under any title in any of the books I had immediately to hand when I got home, but then I thought to search this group and voilà ^^ . I could wish that "cool rains and breezes" had sped to our relief more quickly and frequently than has been the case the last few summers and especially this year, but as a ritual commemoration of the good old days hereabouts I think this is a pretty good song, which I intend to sing in other contexts (and styles) hereabouts. And I may try my hand at a text for the tune to include in Sankta Harmonio.
