- A group for Sacred Harp Data Analysis - 1 Update
Jake Harmon <jakeblu...@gmail.com>: Sep 22 06:29PM -0700
Hi all!
My name is Jake Harmon, and I've been singing from the Sacred Harp book for
about a year now, though I've listened to it for years. I'm also a graduate
student in Atlanta studying epidemiology, and I've become interested using
data science, particularly epidemiological methods, to minutes data we
collect. Here's an example of one project I'm working
on: https://51t3yt-jake-harmon.shinyapps.io/sacred_harp_km_app/
I had the pleasure of meeting Will Fitzgerald at the 2025 convention
recently, and we decided to create a Discord dedicated to facilitating
collaboration between data scientists interested in Sacred Harp music; if
this is something that interests you, I invite you to join us at SHaDRAC -
the Sacred Harp Data Research and Analytics Collective!
Here is a link to join (it will only be live for a week, because Discord is
particular):

Here is my discord info if the link expires before it finds you; feel free
to friend and DM me to be added;

Best,
Jake Harmon
