The new edition of the Denson book has got slightly fewer songs in common with Southern Harmony than did the 1991, and I'm certain Southern Harmony people will be missing O COME AWAY in particular. There is, however, a nice new "class" of overlapping songs,
some of which are liked at Big Singing: ROCHESTER, STAR IN THE EAST (i.e., SHEPHERD'S STAR), PETERBORO, SUPPLICATION, (non-new) IMANDRA, and my beloved NEW FAREWELL (i.e., PARTING FRIENDS).
When adjusting the concordances we use at Big Singing to accomodate the new Denson book, I took the opportunity to also create a larger-font one-sheet version aimed at Sacred Harp singers, which had been requested of me earlier this year. The one-sheet version
does not include songs in common with Cooper and Shenandoah. All variants are found in PDF format in
this folder.
Best,
E. Fulton.
