Updated SH<>SoH Concordances

The new edition of the Denson book has got slightly fewer songs in common with Southern Harmony than did the 1991, and I'm certain Southern Harmony people will be missing O COME AWAY in particular. There is, however, a nice new "class" of overlapping songs, some of which are liked at Big Singing: ROCHESTER, STAR IN THE EAST (i.e., SHEPHERD'S STAR), PETERBORO, SUPPLICATION, (non-new) IMANDRA, and my beloved NEW FAREWELL (i.e., PARTING FRIENDS). 

When adjusting the concordances we use at Big Singing to accomodate the new Denson book, I took the opportunity to also create a larger-font one-sheet version aimed at Sacred Harp singers, which had been requested of me earlier this year. The one-sheet version does not include songs in common with Cooper and Shenandoah. All variants are found in PDF format in this folder.

Thank you. That’s very interesting and helpful. I personally am delighted that O, Come Away went away. I just never liked it. I have enjoyed Will Fitzgerald’s essay and the comments it generated, but it wasn’t one of my favorites.
