In partial repayment for the many, many favors I ask of you-all, I proffer this curiosity from J. S. Inskip's Songs of Triumph: Adapted to Prayer Meetings, Camp Meetings, and All Other Seasons of Religious Worship (Philadelphia: National Publishing Association for the Promotion of Holiness, 1882): https://archive.org/details/songsoftriumphad00insk/page/116/mode/2up. Refer to "I Left It All with Jesus," no. 158 at bottom right. I am unfamiliar with any hymn of this basic outline, but it is structurally radically different from the texts one typically sees with this tune family. Rather than a twice-per-strophe interlinear chorus, there is only the barest of internal repetitions, "long ago" and "rolled away" in the case of the first verse.

I am off on another wild goose-chase looking for an 1885-ish supplement to Songs of Triumph to which William J. Reynolds once made reference. WorldCat is ignorant of such a beast, so it will be slow going. Shall report back.

Best,

E. Fulton.
