Hello all,
Thanks Dan, Carl, Terry, Gretchen and Liz  for coming up so far in the rain and traffic to help us sing.  As you said, there are some good singers up here and I'm so happy they are interested, thru Dominic's  family to form  a Sacred Harp group.   It appears we can use that space on the first Sundays and that seems a time when many of you might be available to come up.  We'll have to choose a time, I understand the afternoon would be preferable to the bay area folks.   Mary Ann may want to call it a Memorial singing in Dominic's name.  Is that OK for monthly singings?  I'm loaning Mary Ann my Minutes book to have a look at, it's 09 - 10.  I would like to have a newer one, are there some there I could get when I'm down next?  I'd also like to have some little beginner booklets for the new singers to purchase.  Do you folks have some in Berkeley or should I order from the source?

I think if we can use the old wooden school  (great acoustics)  ongoingly, and it seems we can,  we should meet there rather than the old Preston Church.  The church, tho beautiful,   has no facilities - bathroom or  kitchen, it's hard to get to and I have to haul in tables and chairs for the dinner on the grounds.  It is also limited by the number of people we can have  - 30, due to the lack of a solid foundation.  What do all you say?

I'm so please to hear that the singing went so well, even on such a rainy night (I barely got to my chorus rehearsal in Oakland!). I agree that Sunday afternoon would be a good time for maximum attendance from me, at least. The idea of carpooling up with singing buddies has great appeal. I also heartily endorse making this a Dominic memorial singing. That's a great tradition, and what better person to start it with locally.
