Hope you are doing well. We'd like to introduce our new venture to you and NIFT alumni, and encourage them to take part in our Exhibit 2012.
Thank God For Design is a small step in making upcoming and established Indian talent in the creative domain known to the world. This is a voice for all designers who don’t have a Fashion week or 263 flagship stores, to promote their products and show it to the world. For us, anybody who creates something to sell is a Designer, for it is their vision and creativity that has led to the venture. So we cover all design entrepreneurs, from fashion to lifestyle, from cake decorators to customized services. It is a Design community where fellow entrepreneurs get a platform to exchange ideas and collaborate on new ventures, as well as reach out to customers and other design enthusiasts.
It has been started by Jasleen Kaur and Supreet Raju, alumnus of NIFT New Delhi in Fashion & Textiles, who own a design consultancy service, Creative Crate. After gaining job experience at Satya Paul, FnF, Rahul Reddy and many more, we got together in 2011 to work on several projects for the Handloom Councils and DC Handlooms in the government, along with exhibit design assignments for Export houses for Heimtextil, Tendence etc. On noticing the paucity of promotion for young designers and their fellow contemporaries, we started up Thank God For Design.
There are many aspects to this Design forum. We started with a website www.thankgodfordesign.com dedicated to covering new and creative designers and updates on the design world, by reviews and directory listings along with social media promotions.
Now we are organizing Thank God For Design Exhibit 2012 featuring more than 35 Indian labels of young, talented and original ideas on 23 & 24 Sept in Aga Khan Hall, New Delhi. The event will host about multiple Indian labels under one roof, along with some chocolatiers. What makes it special is that we intend to take it much beyond a regular hotel exhibition and create a fun-filled atmosphere where design is truly understood, appreciated and purchased.
VENUE : Aga Khan Hall is located in the heart of Delhi on Bhagwan Das Road, which makes it a perfect location for designers to come and sell. The closest metro station is Mandi House (Blue line), and is walkable from the venue.
FLOOR PLAN : The Main Hall will host 34 Design Stalls apart from a small Food section where we wish to stock some chocolatiers and cupcake bakeries. The Design Stalls are featuring a mix of Fashion and Accessory designers from all over India : a mix of new, upcoming and established labels.
PROMOTIONS : We're collaborating with a PR team, and in talks with some sponsors and hope to advertise the event through every medium possible - print and TV media, radio as well as flyers, editorials, social media, emailers and sms. In all, we are leaving no stone unturned for making this a big event. A competition has been organized for encouraging young designers and design students, the results of which we be announced during the event.
We’re midway with our bookings, and wish to find some NIFT alumni with Fashion apparel and accessories labels to join us.
