God has given me the opportunity to go serve the people of Bolivia and Argentina this summer. I’m actually leaving next Sunday (June 9-June 23). I’ll be going with an organization called 4Christ Missions and we’ll be supporting missionary Pastor Paul Suh. I’ve gotten to know Pastor Paul over the past few years and his ministry focuses on planting churches, training pastors, developing communities, and preaching the Gospel across Central and South America. Our team will consist of about 60 people from across the USA, mainly college students. We’ll be sharing the Gospel through prison ministry, urban outreach, children’s ministry, revival meetings, and medical ministry.
I’m excited because this is the first time I’ll be able to use my medical skills to serve. I just graduated from medical school and will be starting residency in Peoria, IL on June 24 (yes, the next morning after I return). There will be 5 others on the medical team and we’ll be setting up free medical clinics alongside the other ministries.
If you would like to support me financially, that would be helpful and please let me know. But more than anything, I ask for your prayers. Please pray for 3 things:
1) That God will protect me and that I won’t die
2) That God will use our team for the expansion of His Kingdom—that God will save people and that the church will be encouraged
3) That God will be glorified through all of this (Galatians 1:24 And they glorified God because of me)
Just to briefly share about life—As I’ve been chugging along through life as a single young adult, I’ve realized that life is not easy. Many days I struggle with my relationship with God, feel super lonely and depressed, feel unmotivated at work, and many times I ask myself, “What the heck is the purpose of all of this?” And the more I try to fill my heart with things that the world offers—money, comfort, food, entertainment, prestige, recognition, achievement, relationships—I consistently find that living for these things leads me to emptiness and despair.
But I don’t think this is the life that God intended for any of us, but Jesus came to give us life, and life to the full. I’ve come to the conclusion that loving and worshiping God and serving Him is the reason we were created and truly, only Jesus can satisfy the soul. Just wanna share 2 verses:
He has DELIVERED US from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son -Col 1:13-
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it TO THE FULL. -John 10:10-
God has delivered us from an empty life of despair and wants to give us a life of joy, meaning, and purpose. We just need to have faith and receive it. Press on my friends. God is good. Oh, it is good to praise the Lord!
