The award-winning documentary, Silence of the Bees, will be shown on
Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Midwest Renewable Energy
Association in Custer. This film explores one of the most baffling
mysteries of nature: the disappearance of the honey bee. Beginning
in the winter of 2006, millions of bees vanished from their hives
without leaving a trace. The disappearance of the bees left billions
of dollars of crops at risk, threatening our food supply. In this
film, we'll follow researchers as they track clues from around the
globe to discover why the honeybees are disappearing in record
numbers. Free popcorn available. Bring your own beverage.
Questions: call 592-4051.

Several of us from SACS (Sustainable Agriculture in Communities
Society) will be meeting at the student garden on campus (on Franklin
Street, inbetween Isadore and Division, next to the UW Credit Union)
at 6:30pm on Thursday to carpool to the MREA for the movie. If anyone
is interested in carpooling, you can meet us at the garden. If you
have any questions, you can call me 346-4230.

Hope to see you there!
Cheers
Holly
