Also according to the Logitech website "Your Logitech camera must be UVC (Universal Video Class) compliant in order to be used on your Mac OS 10.4.9 or later computer. These standard UVC drivers are provided by the operating system and will only provide minimal camera support".
The software (Logitech Webcam Software.mpkg) is in the CD that come in the product box but is not avaiable to download from the website. So if your Mac doesn't have a CD/DVD drive you'll have to use another Mac computer with a CD/DVD drive to copy it to a thumb drive or send it via network or internet to your Mac.
I confirm that too. It works with no problem at all! All you have to do is to insert the CD and install the software (Logitech Webcam Software.mpkg). It also has an update after the installation. Then you plug-in the camera and it is fine. It worked at ML 10.8.2 & 10.8.3!
I bought the Logitech c270 this week and they did not include the CD in the box - the in-box manual refers to a CD, but the side of the box says 'requires software download from Logitech.com.' However, the version of Logitech Webcam Software they have on the site is not compatible with OSX 10.7 and above. So, buyer beware until Logitech sorts it out.
I found it worked without any problems using Photobooth. Plug the camera into the USB port before starting Photobooth or it won't be recognised. This on a Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013 model), running OS X version 10.9.3. Good luck!

My camera stopped working with the last Octoprint update
I've unplugged the camera and plugged it into the Pc and it loads up and works perfectly. When I plug it back into the Pi it does not ever come up on the "Control" page where I usually see the webcam stream.
I have exactly the same problem,
When i start the PIB3+, the camera works normally,
But when a star a print, after 5 seconds the print started, the camera stops working.
I d'ont use the timelapse functionality.
SOLVED! The problem is that the octoprint does not recognize the camera because it cannot find the drivers. Surely in the latest versions of octoprint the drivers of the logitech cameras have been removed in the octoprint installation. All you have to do is google "Install drivers logitech c270 raspberry pi" and follow the steps. After that restart the raspberry pi and it will work, I have already managed to make it work with the version.
That's unlikely (well... impossible) since OctoPrint has nothing to do with the streaming of the webcam itself, it just embeds a webcam stream from mjpg_streamer. Its never had any drivers that it could remove.
I cannot seem to figure out why zoom, discord, and a myriad of other applications (pretty much all) do not recognize my Logitech C270 webcam. I booted into the arch generic kernel and they were detected just fine, but with the custom kernel, no matter how many options I compiled with, they would never seem to work with the camera.
I have been looking tirelessly online to figure out how to get it working with no luck, so I feel I need to make a new topic about this. I do believe this is a driver issue or a kernel config issue, but I just cannot seem to figure out WHY it is not showing up.
I tried to check but there are so many modules loaded in the default kernel that it's completely unrealistic to try and pinpoint the specific module for the camera. I even tried looking for modules related to cameras but no luck.
I am facing a strange issue during zoom meetings. I am using Logitech C270 external USB webcam, every 3 minutes, webcam is being stopped suddeny, then I am starting again, I have also updated driver, changed USB port, but nothing changed. I have also confirmed at out of Zoom plaftorm, example Skype, webcam is running without any stop greatly, so it seems there is no hardware issue. Is there anyone who faces same problem and any solution proposal?
