Cityof Fairmont's ordinance number 1655, with an effective date of October 8, 2015, provides for the imposition, administration, collection and enforcement of a Consumers Sales and Service Tax and a Complimentary Use Tax of 1% on state taxable sales. This legislation is effective July 1, 2016.
There is a tax charged on gross revenues of every entity conducting business within the corporate limits of this municipality. The rate, per $100.00 of gross revenue, varies by business classification.
Under Home Rule, City of Fairmont's ordinance number 1654, with an effective date of October 8, 2015, offers taxpayers Business and Occupation Tax credits in four categories. Taxpayers can use forms available on this website to make application to the Finance Director. More information is available on the application and reporting forms or by calling the B&O Tax Manager at
304-366-6212 ext. 323. The four categories are as follows:
You can disable ANC by dragging the finger downwards over the touchpad on the right earpad. You can also use the app for it. It is always enabled by default. I don't see it as a big problem to just swipe downwards.
Regarding the noice that can be heard in the background, I hear them too and it is probably disturbance from the bluetooth radio chip. It is probably not very well isolated from the other circuitry. This is very apparent also on BeoPlay A1 and a little bit on Beolit 15. It is very easy to hear the radio communication between the bluetooth chip and the phone om H8 if you have good hearing. I wish they worked harder on the RF-side but I don't think that is B&Os strong side unfortunately.
And I've also noticed that when they get in to the high pitched squeaky mode, the sound quality alters adding a metallic haze over everything. And it also adds a ton of distortion on higher notes, e.g. a female vocal letting loose or an electric guitar. I think it was this "mode" that at one point when cold wind from the subway triggered them to go all in with a loop of squeakiness and I had to rip them off my head.
Starting to wonder if it's related to the shape of my ears and the feedback construction of the ANC. When removing/fastening the ear cushion triggers the high pitched noise when it gets close to the center raised black dot, maybe it's my ear that gets too close and triggers the freaky ANC squeaky mode?
I'll have to ask B&O if it's possible to pay a little bit extra to get the H9 instead. Maybe they have figured it all out for that model? Just know that I'm getting tired of returning them all the time...
Hi. Just to let you know I bought the H9 one week ago. I had the acoustic feedback issue just like you described. I went to the shop in London to have it replaced straight and I still have the problem. I explained to the manager that I did not wanted to send them away with UPS as It makes it my problem where it should be a B&O problem really. so they gave me a new pair but 5 min after tried it... still the same issue. I don't know if it's an hardware issue or what as I believe most of it is shared with the H8 or if it's my ears... as apparently no body at the job managed to reproduce the issue... and we tried 3 different person. I don't know what to do. Shall I actually return it again or it this some kind of default with the way the ANC work with B&O (which by the way makes it unusable) ?

I'm trying to figure out the correct sequence of actions to switch between (previously paired) devices. I use my H8 with iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro 2016, but whenever I need to switch between the two, I'm still not sure what to do: do I have to just press the switch once (or twice?), press and hold it, do I have to force the connection on the device side (e.g. click Connect in MacBook bluetooth settings). I just randomly do something until the H8 gets connected to the right device. Is there a beautiful and seamless way to switch correctly? ) Thanks!
I have this exact issue as well. Switching between the two, right now, is quite awkward. Any tips/pointers to get it to be more seamless, or at least to get the procedure documented and repeatable would be awesome.
If I'm not mistaken, quickly flipping the switch to BT on the H8 will only toggle BT on or off. That said, if both previously paired devices are on, and within the same vicinity of the H8 when you turn on BT, the H8 will just connect to whichever it sees first (and pretty randomly).
Late arrival to the entire H8 scene. Got a set of open box Gray Hazel with SN 25127xxx. In looking at this forum to see if I should keep or return, I noticed that the Gray Hazel fix shows a 7-digit serial number. Could the fix have been implemented at 25124849? That seems more aligned to the Argilla Bright serial number. As a side note, the only Bluetooth issues I have had is when I have wandered away from my device...maybe 15 to 20 feet. Overall, I am very happy with them.
The real problem starts, when I turn my H8s on and adjust the settings before playing music. Whenever I do this, my phone will show playback after starting music but there is no sound coming from the H8 and they can't be turned off anymore, except when I take out the battery.
Is there any way (aside from going into airplane mode) to stop this? I just don't want to autodial the last number. I can't imagine ever wanting to grab my headset and have it do this without some sort of confirmation.
The strange thing is that the behavior is inconsistent; it's not a double-click, it's not always just a long click, it's not just two clicks apart. If I change the settings so that Siri operates only while the iPhone is unlocked and active, it stops happening (but Siri comes on) but when the screen is locked (and Siri is off) it happens immediately. If I have Siri on during lockscreen, and the phone locked, the redial fuction will interrupt Siri.
This is just really frustrating, I have nice headphones but it's easy to press the call button. Controlling the phone with voice or the buttons is nice, but I don't want it to dial, ever, without confirmation.
I know you don't like cluttering your UI with settings, but really, redialling without confirmation if you press a button in the wrong way is awful UX. Apple, you're able to fix it, please do it already.
I have the same issue - Beoplay H7 headphones. I've ended up accidentally calling the last number a few times. Seems like such a weird unintuitive 'feature'. No options in the Beoplay app to control this behaviour.
You might want to take a few minutes to read the user guide from your headset. Many headsets will allow for using with the phone, and have a number of settings for each button. The phone is dialing because the headset is sending it the command to dial. Many headsets work in this manner. I have a Blue Ant and when I double tap the button it activates the phone dialer. I believe you just might be misunderstanding the function of your headset.
LOL, if I had a dime for everything that Apple ever left broken by intention I'd be a literal billionaire. (Dictionary definition of literal. Not hyperbolistic definition. I would *actually*... be... a billionaire.) -- Intentionally breaking something doesn't make it fixed. It makes it broken exactly as intended. This principle in car manufacturing is called Built In Obsolescence. It represents a scheduled inadequacy that propels consumption rather than appeasement of human needs. (Apple does this with OS compatibilities biannually.) And when your *intentional* design, has a flaw... it is what's known in engineering throughout the world as: A Design Flaw. -- If the only factor we used to define a fault were 'intention'... Hitler would have been "functioning exactly as intended" and therefore flawless. Which is frankly ridiculous. I doubt it will happen, but let's all hope this little lesson in design vernacular is over.
Anybody know when the b&o retired or traded on thier end ea's? I know # 51 went to the b&o railroad muesem. But what was the fate of her fleet mates. They were delivered in 1937and I believe the a units were numbered 50 - 56, the b units carrying an x, ie 50x.
I have seen a picture where the locomotive was reported to have arrived Chicago on The Abraham Lincoln in the early 40's and it has the road number 50 in the number board and classic B&O paint. The 50 was B&O's original box cab diesel, that later on got a dose of 'streamstyling'; but never had the nose of an EA. How the 52 got the road number 50 in the picture; Lord only knows!
Also a quick way of telling a 201A engined unit from a 567 engined unit is the number and size of the radiator grilles on the side. Two large grilles for EA and EB, three smaller grilles for E3A or E6A and E3B or E6B. This is handy for ground level views of EBs and E6Bs. Santa Fe in particular mixed their lead and trail units among E1s E3 (one only) and E6s.
Unfortunately, the stainless steel trim around the headlight of number 51 was evidently not saved, and she has been displayed without it for years. It's also a shame that the streamlined pilot was replaced with a more functional one before retirement. I guess we should be glad the unit was saved at all, in whatever form.
