Well, as is so often the way, it all depends on what you're looking for. Here we'll run down the feature sets of both speakers, looking at which one has the edge in which area, to give you an idea of which one is the best choice for you.

Bluetooth speakers vary quite a bit when it comes to price. While they're generally cheaper than hi-fi speakers, some Bluetooth speakers can still cost quite a bit. On the flip side, some are cheap as chips.

Both are waterproof to the same rating, so should withstand being submerged up to 1m in water for up to 30 minutes. But the Boom 3 is also dustproof, which adds some peace of mind if you're heading to the beach.

The Boom 3 is slightly bigger than the Flip 5, and the high-density fabric has been reworked to make it handle almost any environment. You could take it to a building site for the day and it is unlikely to have any complaints.

The Flip 5 also scored high for portability, though its unlit buttons can be a bit tricky to find in the dark. It too is built to last, but the Boom 3's dustproof rating just edges it for Ultimate Ears.

Through the JBL Connect app, pressing the PartyBoost button on the Flip 5 helps you pair two PartyBoost-enabled speakers to create a stereo pair, or to link more than 100 PartyBoost-compatible speakers in mono. Though be warned: this is not the same as the Connect+ button seen on the Flip 4, Charge 4 and older JBL Bluetooth speakers.

You can't connect the Flip 4 and Flip 5 in stereo or mono mode, for starters, and you can't connect older JBL models using the same PartyBoost feature. Your options are currently limited to more Flip 5s or the Pulse 4.

The UE Boom 3 isn't short of tricks, either. Tapping the Magic Button on top lets you pause, play and skip tracks, while a long-press summons playlists imported from a music streaming service. That playlist feature is currently restricted to Apple Music on iOS devices and Deezer Premium on Androids, but Ultimate Ears is hoping to add more streaming services soon.

The tidy new Boom app lets you link two Boom 3s for stereo sound. Or, if you want even bigger sound, you can daisychain more than 150 Boom and Megaboom speakers (current and previous generations) for one heck of a party.

This is a difficult one to call. On paper, the Boom 3 has it. After all, it comes out top in three categories (features, design, build and battery life) compared with the Flip 5's two (sound quality and price). But plenty of people will be most interested in sound quality and price, so for them, the Flip 5 is the better buy.

If, however, you're looking for more of an overall package that lasts longer, works with more partnering speakers and that you can take to the beach without worrying about the sand playing merry hell with its innards, the UE Boom 3 is the best Bluetooth speaker for you.

Actors Jeremy Renner and Kristoffer Winters have roughly two dozen house flips under their tool belts. They just sold an estate in Los Angeles for $24 million. The Roaring '20s Art Deco-style mansion, which Winters dubbed the Reserve, is set at the end of a cobblestone driveway on two acres.

Brad Blumenthal, who played Jerry Lewis in "Pulp Fiction," and co-investor Leo Hauser have a contemporary Los Angeles compound they created listed for sale at $28.8 million. Set above the Sunset Strip, the sleek home and guest house make the most of their head-on city views.

The ranks of celebrity home flippers include Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton; "L.A. Law" actor Corbin Bernsen and his wife, actress-interior designer Amanda Pays; and "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" star Jane Seymour, area real estate agents say. Other entertainers opt to invest in home flipping behind the scenes and let someone else do the work.

The recovering real estate market has seen an increase in flipping at all price points, with the quick turnover of luxury properties nearly doubling since last year, according to DataQuick, a real estate information provider. In the $1 million-plus market, 5.3 percent of properties were flipped in the first six months of this year, compared with 3.4 percent during the first half of last year.

In the luxury niche, home flips typically require at least a year to complete, compared with six months in the overall market, said Jan Brzeski of Arixa Capital Advisors, which provides funding for homes in prime locations being renovated for resale. The flippers he works with typically see profits in the 12 percent to 20 percent range, he said.

"There are not a whole lot who are playing at this level," said real estate broker Billy Rose of the Agency, who is one of the listing agents for the Sunset Strip compound. Those who dare, he said, often want to make an architectural statement as well as money.

Up until the last several years, the two made more money flipping houses than acting, Winters said. Now, Renner keeps busy with films such as "The Bourne Legacy" and "The Avengers," and Winters is focusing full-time on flipping houses, often bringing in other financial partners. He has offices on Sunset Boulevard and a staff of five.

The Reserve, with a wine cellar, a theater, six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 10,000-plus square feet of living space, is the most ambitious undertaking to date. The property cost $7 million, and the nearly $25 million asking price included pretty much everything the buyer needed to move right in.

"If you are going after a big-boy house, you have to know your market and your clientele," Winters said. Convenience is essential in this niche market, especially with foreign buyers. "They don't want to spend two years with an interior designer."

Flip-Swap Galaxy is a galaxy that appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is located in World 1 and is based on levels from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Sunshine. Performing a Spin Jump will make the red and blue Red-Blue Panels flip over and swap places. Chomps also appear on the red and blue platforms, along with other enemies, like Goombas. A Star Bunny also makes an appearance here and gives out a hint.

The first area of this galaxy is rather simple. It only consists of a few flipping panels that change when the player performs a Star Spin. The player simply needs to time their spins to reach the other side of the planet.

The next area introduces electrified, moving fences. However, these fences move rather slowly, so they should not be a huge nuisance. In the Think Before You Shake mission, the panels are attached to each other. However, during the Purple Coin Flip 'n' Sprint mission, the panels are spread apart, more electric fences are added, and the area is larger. The Goombas and Octoombas on the platform between Area 1 and Area 2 are gone as well during the Purple Coin mission.

This next area is rather small and the only real hazard featured here is a large Chomp that rolls around the red panels. During the Purple Coin Flip 'n' Sprint mission, an electric wire moving back and forth appears on the platform connecting this area with Area 2.

The final area features faster moving electric fences and the panels are also spread out. During the Purple Coin Flip 'n' Sprint mission, the electric fences are replaced with two fast-moving electric wires that move across two separate sections of the area.

This star is found above one of the red platforms in the second area. The player has to perform a Triple Jump and Spin or a well timed backwards somersault and Spin to reach this Green Star. If the player misses the star, then they can try again if they manage to land on the platforms which will be flipped from the Star Spin.

This Green Star is found above a red platform where the Chomps are rolling around in the fourth area. The player has to perform a Triple Jump or a well timed Somersault to reach it while avoiding the Chomp that spawns nearby.

"We're being outplayed right now on both ends of the floor, offensively and defensively," George Hill suggested. "I feel like the last couple games we've been out of sync and as a little bit as the point guard, it's my fault on the offensive end where I need to get guys into better rhythms and things like that. I just got to get us back in sync. That's going to be our biggest thing."

Hill echoed the post-game comments from several other Pacers, including coach Frank Vogel. Inside the locker room, they're talking about rhythm, but just haven't been able to recapture it after enjoying a season-high seven-game winning streak.

Over the last three straight losses, the Pacers (30-37) have shot only 40 percent, 43 percent and 39 percent from the floor. During that successive seven-game stretch, the Pacers also held the same amount of opponents to 40 percent or less shooting, a franchise record. Now, defensively out of sorts, the Pacers have allowed an average of 104.3 points over the last three.
