Here is some comments on other EA:s apart from FAP Turbo and Megadroid. Some of them can be worthwhile looking further into.
Dragonpips We had high expectations on this EA. The problem is though that it performs very well based on recent backtesting data. But backtesting it for a couple of years back, it performs quite bad. Since it seem to be optimized based on recent data only we feel that it is fairly unpredictable. It has however had some sessions with excellent scalping trades, closing 5-6 trades in a row with each trade open no more than 30 minutes. If there is a way to tame this Dragon it could be profitable, but for now we cannot really recommend it since we have not been able to prove that it is profitable in the long term. EURGBP and EURCHF seem to be the best pairs to trade. The best trading hours we have found is 20-23 and 20-24 respectively. In recent backtest data these pairs are very profitable with these settings, going back to 2007 and 2008 however, we are not able to replicate the results.
Forex Conqueror This one have also been a bit of a disappointment. Both the USDJPY and EURUSD EA are in a loss at the moment. We will however give the EA another week in testing.
Xtreme EURCHF and Xtreme EURGBP This is two EA:s quite similar to FAP turbo in their trading strategy. Out of all EA:s, apart from Megadroid and FAP Turbo, these two are the ones that has the highest chance of being profitable in the long run according to our opinion. Just as with FAP Turbo it seems like EURCHF is the more profitable pair. However in the first week of testing we got a total of 17 trades with these and all of them where profitable. We will continue to test.
Automatic Forex Crusher This EA has done very well in some independent forward demo tests recently. We will add it to our test account this week. It should however be noted that we have not yet been able to get any solid backtesting results.
Other EA:s that is currently not being tested but is on our “watch list” at the moment
Pipzu Some people are achieving pretty decent results in forward demo testing this EA. It does quite few trades per week, but is supposed to have a very high win rate. In our backtesting we have however been unable to make it profitable. We will therefore not bring it to forward testing for now.
M5G Cybrog EA There have not been a lot of hype around this EA so far, but it performs pretty well on the developer forward live statements. It will be high on our watch list and we will monitor developer performance. There is an open discussion on the Forex TSD forum regarding optimization of this EA where the developer is involved. On this forum there seem to be some independent tests too. If it continue to perform well we might consider buying it and put it on the demo testing account.
Euro Blaster This is one of the more recent EA:s. One independent tester made over 30% with this EA this week and had a floating loss of about 15%, so all in all a 15% gain in one week. The negative thing with this EA is that it has a stop loss of 500 pips vs. take profit of 20-25 pips. This means that it need to have at least 25 profitable trades in a row to not lose money. It has a fairly good price of $87. If it continues do to well on independent forward testing accounts we will consider putting it on a demo account.
Robominer This EA trades only AUDNZD and it only executes sell orders. It pulls in a small but steady profit every month. The problem is however that it often builds up a large floating loss. I several independent forward tests the floating loss is about 3 times larger than the closed profit at the moment. If you have a large account and trade small lots and have a lot of patience, this EA will most certainly give you better return than on a savings account with decent interest rate, but as we see it, this EA does not play in the same division as Megadroid and FAP Turbo.
The most interesting EA:s to look further into at the moment apart from the solid money makers FAP Turbo and Megadroid is probably; Xtreme, M5G Cybrog and Euro Blaster and maybe Pipzu. Please note however that we do not officially recommend any of these yet. The only robots that we officially recommend are those that we think is good enough to use on our own live accounts, which is FAP Turbo and Megadroid.
Please feel free to share your experiences with these EA:s in the comments section.
