Bite Into the Action as the Road to the Krystal Square Off IV World Championship Final Begins in Chattanooga this August

CHATTANOOGA -   It won't be just football and baseball keeping fantasy sports enthusiasts busy this fall. They will now have the sport of competitive eating to add to their lists of fantasy sports obsessions. Announced today, Krystal, the fast food icon famous for its fresh, hot, small, square hamburgers, has launched a fantasy competitive eating league just in time for the start of the qualifying tour for the 2007 Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship, the only world hamburger-eating championship sanctioned by Major League Eating.

Billed in its fourth year as Krystal Square Off IV and annually drawing all of the world's top eaters, including Joey Chestnut and three-time Krystal Square Off champion Takeru Kobayashi, the three-month long qualifying circuit and championship event officially gets underway on August 25, in Chattanooga, with the first of nine regional qualifiers. From there, the road to the top burger title will journey to cities all across the South with each city sending its winner to the World Championship event held in downtown Chattanooga in early November.

To get in on the action, it's simple. Head to www.KrystalSquareOff.com and click on the "Fantasy League" section where you and your friends can create your own league and each draft your own team of competitive eaters. Drafts must occur between August 10 and midnight on August 24, and each team must consist of seven eaters.  Leagues can have a maximum of seven teams but no fewer than four.The Krystal Square Off IV website also provides loads of information in the "Competitor Profiles" section giving fantasy sports fans plenty of information to digest to make informed decisions.

Once teams have been drafted, owners can drop, add or trade their competitive eaters up until midnight on the day before the regional qualifier final. Eaters cannot be dropped, traded or added once they've competed. Points will be accumulated based on the average number of Krystal Hamburgers that each eater consumes in the local qualifier finals and their total at the Krystal Square Off IV World Championship.

So put your bragging rights on the line for your favorite gustatory athletes and track your team as they work their way through the Krystal Square Off IV qualifiers and then go for the glory at the Krystal Square Off IV World Hamburger Eating Championship this November in Chattanooga.
