So, how do you think we should score the Krystal qualifiers? I'm
thinking each major qualifier will be scored the same as we did for
Nathan's, but what about the minor qualifiers, in the case that an MLE
eater decides to go for one? Should there be contest points awarded
or just unit points for those?

Same as Nathans, and then maybe 5 points for the winner of a 2 minute drill?

I was going to say we should keep it like Nathan's to make it simple,
but I don't know if I like that. I was just looking at the scorecard
and it looked like you get 15 for a win in a qualifier and then 8 for
second. If that is true you could theoretically go to 3 qualifiers
and get 2nd place in the first two and win the third for a total of 31
points. The person who won 1st on their first try ends up only
getting a total of 15 points. Is that right?
That kind of stinks. On the other hand I suppose it would stink to
have to travel 3 times too. I don't know how to make it fair for the
person that wins right off the bat. Unless someone else can think up
something else, I can go with the Nathan's style scoring. Or maybe we
could count points for non-first place qualifiers until they win a
qualifer. Then they don't really need the points from the other
qualifier. Or maybe go back and prorate the points for non-first
place in the qualifier. :o/ My brain hurts. I will let you all
think about it some.

I understand your point, and I did think that way intially.

I think the winners get the benefits in real life...they also get the opportunity to contribute points to their leagues by Eating in the Finals.

I think we should keep it the same to reward everyone who is not a winner, but still spends the money and time to show up and try again.  This way teams with a less powerful undercard can make gains just for being prolific.  It rewards the CE Spirit of coming back for more to reach your goals.  It also keeps the scores from being a complete runaway I think.

Cool. I can agree with that.

Okay, same as Nathan's breakdown for the big qualifier, 5 point reward
for the winner of a mini-qualifier. Done!
