The problem with those two is that they reflect badly on everyone with any GSE's position by their blinding stupidity and noise they generate. It's not so cute when anyone can point out that #fanniegate is crazy people, because a few crazies make most of the noise.

this thread is possible but it would require a shareholder vote (preferred shareholder vote), and would convert to common

but hey, i'm smart, so i have that going against me

Cancel of shares implies no trade for common. Yes. Short of bankruptcy, the shares cannot be amended without a 2/3 vote of preferred shares.
