Anyone else notice common seems to be melting up while preferred are melting down with little to now volume?

The Moelis plan spread widened to 24% on FMCKJ & FNMAS. It's usually around 18%. 

If I was sure Moelis is going to get done, I would sell benchmarks and buy much cheaper preferreds. It's sort of happening for a few days now. The rich $25s and benchmakrs have widening spread to the common and the illiquid stuff tightened to benchmarks. I did some swaps into FREJP the other day too. Why would you have FNMAs or FMCKJ when you can buy much cheaper classes?

Seysmont - You got it. Cheap 50s coming up to be 10% of FNMAM. Note that 'cheapies' have a wide spread, so to buy you are even closer.

Buy of the day today is FMCCH (block at 9.50) and no, that is not me.

OP - Commons have liquidity, and will move first, usually. I expect Preferreds will move soon. It is not a straight-across-the-board move you see, but I think the commons have hit the bottom for the 'waiting period' prior to Watt's decision (and all indicators point to his holding cash). He even signals he is not intending to signal when he does it! LOL.

Sorry if i thought prior post was an attack on my friend.  E-mails have zero tone. so easy to read them in a variety of ways.  I at least need to keep focused on the goal, sharing information and testing my own thesis. on FnF. Other boards nonsense is just noise to me.  i dont even read them. Joseph - you probably know but my view is the prior poster is not advocating common but merely trying to instigate.  That is the activity that the other board got suckered into. 

As for Ackman, not sure what his game is but he appears to be playing up the the senators rather than lashing out at them.  Might be the right thing to do, might not. 

Unfortunetly the Trump distractions are not good for any forward progress.  A Vacuum is never good.  Maybe he will resign. not likely, but maybe due to health or something else.

Ps are holding up esp. 50s.  the red ones are on garbage volume so, to me they are neutral today...Commons are down...bought a few FMCC at 2.53.   Will but a few more if they go lower....go figure..devil
