who knows why? common was up earlier in the morning. something tells me they are highly affected by traders making moves on the momentum. I think preferreds are locked up by the hedge funds now. they almost never trade in the same volumes as they did in 2011. I think they've mostly been sopped up by those without a desire to sell them.
a few preferreds are down, must up a few percent.

I think both common and pref had high volume today. My bud that has mostly common thought it might be the delay....

My thought is anything below 4.04 is an ok buy.... not a recco.

The ratio at today's close is 2.72 so you mean something else I guess. Not sure what you're driving at but my guess is you have some equivalency in mind where one becomes better buy than the other when it deviates.

Has rallied quite a bit. A breather can happen. Avg cost on FMCKI was 5.65 on the last buys. Small trades.

I believe the drop started right after Mnuchin answered Maria B's question (at MIGlobal confr.) about GSE reform being an end of year into next year solve. I think MMs took that as people (short-term traders) will back out of commons for a while and quickly dropped the price. It dove 15 cents on just about 350k shares being traded IIRC.

I can pretty much guess which pfds are the fifties, the ones trading around ten or above but where is it listed?

I think this is a great resource.
The fannie and freddie websties used list all thier preffereds i dont think they do that anymore.
