Happy Thursday!

Pals, there are only nine days left in The Ladydrawers' Kickstarter for Comics Undressed, Francis Kang's Chicago-focused documentary on gender and race and money in the comics industry, so if you haven't donated yet, I'd love your support for their smart and hard work now. They have some great perks, including a digital copy of the film (available now for domestic and international donors) for $35, and a DVD of the final for donors at the $100 level. Plus original art from folks like MariNaomi and Andi Zeisler!

They're a bit short of the half-way point, but they can get fully funded with only 248 more donors at the $35 level. I bet I know 248 people who will want to see, teach, or own this film. Maybe you're one of them? Maybe you know a few I don't? If so, do click here or forward this link along: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1105013300/comics-undressed/backers

In related good news: I've been awarded a USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Fellowship for my work on the Ladydrawers Truthout strip! And, heads up, Tuesday marks the first of our year-long investigations into the international garment and sex trades in comics form. I'm working with mistress of the macabre Julia Gfrörer for the first three in the series, and They. Are. Great.

Thanks for your support, and for all your sakes, I hope summer lingers a bit longer,

aem
