DynomiteDB is a high performance Dynamo layer that adds data replication and sharding to Redis and other single-server storage engines, plus the ability to scale linearly, high availability via a shared nothing architecture with no single point of failure (SPOF), and support for 1000+ node clusters that span multiple data centers.

Redis provides DynomiteDB with a high performance backend and is the primary API supported by Dynomite. You can use any Redis client in your favorite programming language to build high performance, scalable applications with DynomiteDB.

Dynomite enables you to scale Redis across 10s, 100s or 1000s of servers. It provides a Dynamo-inspired, linearly scalable cluster with no single point of failure. Dynomite clusters can span multiple data centers and are ideal for cloud or on-premise deployments.

The Dyno Java client reduces the complexity of developing applications. Dyno provides connection pooling, load shedding with exponential backoff, efficient request routing and a suite of features that simplify application development.

1) The dyno is a piece of equipment used for measuring the performance of a race engine. The different elements of performance that are tested include rotations per minute (RPM), force and torque.

3) There are three different types of dyno cells used in the engine shop. The first is developmental. There are three developmental cells in the engine shop. The engines tested in these cells are not used in the race cars. The engines in the developmental cells help determine the specifications that will be used for future engines. All engines built for the NASCAR Cup Series are built with the track in mind. For example, the engine used at a superspeedway like Talladega will be built with different specifications than an engine for a short track like Martinsville.

4) The next type of cell is a firing production cell. The firing production cell is more basic and is used to test the engines that are being built specifically for race cars. The engine shop has two firing production cells.

Dyno. You've probably heard the word before. It a process by which a vehicle is tested for performance on a machine called a Dynometer. It's usually done only on race cars to measure horsepower and pounds of torque. This is determined by engine rpm or speed. Sometimes cars are Dynoed to measure the air/fuel ratio if it is running rich. Basically it's testing to see what a vehicle can do in a controlled environment. The experts of the Dyno is Romar Automotive Inc. on Route 52 in Walden.

After a brief tour of the facility, which is quite impressive, I was fortunate enough to be able to partake in the Dyno process. On the rack, tightly strapped down, was a 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10 pickup with a 505-cubic-inch V-10 motor. The wheels of the truck sat on 3-foot-diameter rollers. Obviously the basis for testing this vehicle was to see if it was possible to obtain better gas mileage and horsepower.

I hopped into the passenger side, Kyle slipped in behind the wheel, and the testing began. Kyle stepped on the gas and allowed the truck to go through all four gears. When it hit fourth gear, right before overdrive kicks in, he let off the gas. The test was finished. Now it was time to see on the computer how the truck performed.

A computerized graph is displayed on the computer screen. One graph shows a red line that depicts the horsepower of the vehicle straight from the factory. This particular vehicle registered 394.42 hp from the factory. The second box displays a graph showing pounds of torque, and the third window shows measurements of air/fuel, mileage per se.
