Adding Wayback Machine?

Hi! I just found out about your website. Love it already. Already downloaded few of my stories. As you know, sometimes stories get removed or deleted. But some people archive them in the Wayback Machine (https://archive.org/web/). What I wanted to know is if anyhow stories in Wayback Machine can be downloaded the same way. Thanks.

I just checked: ffnet and AO3 (the two biggest / most popular fanfic
sites I know of) are not archived in Wayback Machine, as far as I can tell.

If you can give me a few examples of stories archived there that aren't
available on the original site, I will look into it. But I'm not very
inclined to try without specific need.

Did a search before adding a new topic, and found this.

Here we see an example of an RR item which had later been 'Stubbed' due to subsequent publication.

Yet here we see an archived version which includes the removed items.

This happens frequently, and it would be absolutely ideal if FFF could compare between them and compile the chapters into the same file, supplementing the missing ones from the archived version.

As each chapter is ordered chronologically by date posted, and the titles remain constant between the versions, implementation shouldn't be insurmountable.

Wayback 'stories' are frequently incomplete.  The one you gave, the very first chapter I tried to click through to returned "Access Denied - This chapter has been drafted or deleted."

I also said (and still say): "A nontechnical issue is the FanFicFare is meant for fanfiction. If an author has removed their content to make money on it, I'm not interested in helping work around that."

The major problem with using the Wayback Machine is that it takes multiple snapshots of pages.  Both before and after the “stubbing”.  Figuring out when the stubbing took place is nearly impossible, and would require many accesses to various snapshots, leading to the WM deciding it needs to put up Cloudflare shields.  Let’s not go there.
