ffnet displays the author's chosen avatar image for stories that don't
have their own cover image.
When you have skip_author_cover:true FFF downloads the author page to
compare the author avatar image to the story image.
If you leave skip_author_cover:false, it saves loading the author page,
but you end up with the author's image on some stories.
