Carrying on the Dartmouth College and Ivy League traditions of excellence is hard work and competition among the best institutions in the nation is intense. As we all search for a competitive edge Dartmouth Athletics strives to operate with the highest level of morals and integrity. Achieving comprehensive excellence while playing by the rules is what the Compliance Office, within Dartmouth Athletics, works to accomplish.
The Compliance Office of Dartmouth Athletics is committed to being Personable, Professional, and Problem solvers. With the motto, "It's Always Sunny in Compliance," cultivating and maintaining healthy, working relationships with all Dartmouth Athletics constituents (e.g., Coaches, Student-athletes, Families, Supporters, and other Dartmouth staff) is of utmost importance to us. We believe that relationships consisting of mutual trust and respect between one another is the foundation for a healthy Compliance Office.
The staff members of the Compliance Office are eager and enthusiastic to answer any questions or concerns you may have about NCAA, Ivy League, and Dartmouth College rules and regulations. Since there are A LOT of rules, we don't expect that every Dartmouth Athletics constituent memorizes them all, but what we do expect is that you Ask Before You Act!
Name, Image and Likeness is any activity in which a prospective student-athlete or student-athlete's name, image, likeness, or personal appearance is used for promotional purposes by a non-institutional entity, including the individual prospective student-athlete or student-athlete, a commercial entity or a non-institutional nonprofit or charitable entity. Such use may be compensated (e.g., cash, product or other benefit) or uncompensated.
A student-athlete may permit the use of his or her name, image, or likeness in non-institutional promotional activities and receive compensation for such activities, including for personal appearances.
A student-athlete shall not receive compensation for athletics performance or participation as an inducement for enrollment.
Institutions shall not be involved in the development, operation, or promotion of a non-institutional name, image, and likeness activity.
Thank you for your interest in representing Dartmouth student-athletes as an athlete agent. We ask that you please follow all State of New Hampshire, NCAA, and Dartmouth Athletics policies and procedures as they pertain to athlete agents.
Preserving the intercollegiate eligibility of a student-athlete is of the highest importance of the Compliance Office's mission. A student-athlete's eligibility is compromised when rules are violated, by not only themselves, but others as well.
Dartmouth student-athletes currently enrolled, including those on leave, withdrawal, or suspension, are expected to comply with ALL rules and regulations governed by the NCAA, The Ivy League Conference, and Dartmouth College. A synopsis of our institution's rules and policies can be found in the Dartmouth College Student-Athlete Handbook (PDF).
Through a partnership with ARMS Software, LLC; a department-wide software solution started over the summer of 2017, student-athletes can log into their profiles to access their team calendar, complete annual compliance paperwork and fill out various forms related to DP2 support and their eligibility.
If you aspire to be a student-athlete at Dartmouth or any other NCAA institution, there are a variety of things you should be aware of, ranging from recruiting rules to eligibility requirements. Luckily, we are here to help you navigate through those important rules!
*Dartmouth sponsors the following non-NCAA sports, of which, the incoming PSAs do not have to register with, or complete the tasks of, the NCAA Eligibility Center: Men's Heavyweight & Lightweight Rowing, Mixed Sailing, and Men's & Women's Squash.
A "Representative of Athletics Interest," also known as a BOOSTER is a term the NCAA uses to classify a broad range of constituents to any particular member institution. Common groups that are deemed representatives of athletics interests are alums, parents of student-athletes, supporters, fans, and more. It is important to understand that the NCAA regulates the actions of representatives of athletics interests and requires each institution to be responsible for those actions. Therefore, Dartmouth Athletics is committed to educating, and being a resource for, our representatives of athletics interests so that intentional (or even inadvertent) NCAA rules are not broken. Violations of these rules directly and negatively impact the intercollegiate eligibility of our current and prospective student-athletes. Which is why as representatives of athletics interests, it's important to know and to follow the rules that apply to you.
Regulations:
Out of all the rules that govern the actions of representatives of athletics interests, there are two areas that stand out the most; extra benefits and recruiting. The following are very brief summaries of those rules. For more information, please see the resources below and feel free to contact Dartmouth Athletics' Compliance Office at any time.

In fact, the required technology to support Regulatory Change Management activities did not exist at the time those applications were developed. Specifically, GRC software does not proactively monitor sources of new regulatory information, provide the ability to automatically analyze and enrich new regulatory content, or enable compliance, risk and legal teams deploy an RCM command center to monitor their compliance status.
