The movie "Red Tails".......PLEASE CONSIDER
I am writing regarding the new movie Red Tails. This movie was 23 years
in the making. George Lucas (Star wars) wrote the movie with the
Tuskegee Airmen. When he starting writing the movie there were 42 men
alive, now there are only 7. He said their stories were so compelling
he did not want to leave anything out. There are 3 movies. This is the
first all-black film. He is using his own money, because the big
companies will not finance an all-black film. When the movie was
finally ready for production, no production company would take it; as a
result, George Lucas had to write a check. After production was
completed, no distribution company would take it. So, George Lucas wrote
another check. The advanced viewing was sponsored by Wells Fargo and the
Museum for Black History Diaspora (not sure of the exact name).
If the movie does not do well the first weekend, we will never see the
other two! The movie comes out Jan 20 Friday! Please make a date with
someone and see it the first weekend! Please forward this email to
everyone you know, so we can support this movie!
This information was shared by one of our YC members. She noted that
the movie is intriguing and has edge-of-your-seat action. It's well
done, and certainly worth seeing. She encourages all of you to see this
movie, and tell others about it as well. Anything we can do to ensure
large numbers of viewers in the first few days of release (scheduled for
Jan. 20th) will make a statement to the production and distribution
companies that WE ARE interested in SEEING this film.
