Standardized assesment testing (e.g., ACRE) can be a challenge to fit
in for Family Formation parishes, since there is only one Classroom
Lesson per month. How will your parish be handling it?

Here's one suggestion:

Depending on the time of your Family Formation session, you might try
serving a meal (or having a potluck) before or after your session.
While the 5th graders are taking the test, you could have a social time
for the families, or perhaps have them work on preparing some of the
Lenten activities in their packet. This way, no one would have to make
a separate trip for the test, just come a little earlier or stay later.
Plus, you have the additional bribe of some food and social time for
your families. You might even have families without fifth graders who
would like to come.

I surveyed 5th grade families at the start of the school year to
determine what day/time they would most prefer (after school, weekend
morning or afternoon, etc). I ended up holding two assessment sessions
(10:30am and 3:30pm) on Saturday, January 20 in order to try to
accommodate all families involved. It worked out pretty well, but I
will still need to schedule a make-up session to accommodate a couple
of families, as well as school students who were absent.
