Winter Fest Ride

Tomorrow, Sunday, December 8th

3:30PM Gather; 3:45PM Depart

North Point Playground Cambridge

(get there by taking the Somerville Community Path to its eastern end and following Cambridge cycle tracks the rest of the way)

This is an informal small group 1.9 mile bonus ride, taking advantage of seasonably great weather forecast.   We will ride an essentially car free ride from NorthPoint Cambridge Playground to the new Winter Fest Event in Charlestown.   Admission is free, it purports to have cool winter lights, a winter castle, food and stuff to buy, skate rental, click on link to learn more.  To be honest I've never been, it is fun to try out new places by bicycle, this is mainly an excuse to show off the secret passageway from North Point area to this part of Charlestown, filled with cool scenery like abandoned rail cars and other fun urban industrial stuff.   (Note this secret passageway is generally only safe to travel on Sundays...)

Make sure your lights are working as return home will be in the dark.   We are timing this so that we ride over there in light but get to experience the events' light in the dark.   Optional group ride back, we can negotiate when/how based on who comes.
